NowCerts is the cheap seat, and mostly on purpose.
It is the agency management system a solo agent can actually afford, and the reviews are unusually warm for the category. The one recurring complaint is worth knowing before you commit.
What it is
NowCerts is a cloud agency management system for independent agencies: policy and client records, certificates, ACORD forms, task and commission tracking. It competes at the bottom of the price range rather than on breadth, and it aims at the shops that Applied and Vertafore price out.
The tiers, as reported
Third-party listings describe an Essentials plan around $99 a month for a single user, Professional near $149 for two, and Business near $295 for five, with additional users around $39 each. Other directories describe solo pricing in the $50 to $100 range, which is either an older plan or a different discount; the disagreement is normal for a vendor that does not publish a price list.
Even taking the higher end, the per-seat number is a fraction of what the base-plus-seat systems charge. A five-user Business plan at $295 is roughly what a five-person agency might pay in seat fees alone elsewhere, before the base.
What reviewers consistently like
Aggregated satisfaction runs high, near 90 percent across a few hundred reviews on the major directories. Two themes repeat. The first is that there is no minimum user count and no feature gating by tier, so a one-person agency gets the actual product rather than a crippled version of it. The second is simply the price relative to what it does, which reviewers describe as a fraction of the leading systems for comparable core functionality.
The complaint that repeats
Pricing volatility. Reviewers report that the cost changes, sometimes unpredictably, and that the number they started on is not the number they ended up with. That is the thing to pin down in writing before you migrate a book into it, because the switching cost is what turns a price increase into a problem you cannot answer.
Ask for the renewal terms explicitly. Ask what triggers a tier change. Ask what your export looks like if you leave.
Who it fits
A solo agent or a small team who wants a real system of record without an enterprise contract, and who is comfortable trading some polish and some integration depth for a bill that does not dominate the overhead. If you are heavily personal lines and live in a comparative rater, the calculus changes and the systems built around rating are worth the premium.
What it does not do
